Top 5 Tips for dry skin
So if you have ever met me you will know that my skin can be DRY AF! What doesn’t help is having eczema. But with some help from these tips, I manage to keep the dryness at bay.
Find a good moisturiser! My favourite is Benefit Cosmetics Total Moisture. It is really good because it contains their exclusive Tri-radiance complex. This attracts and holds water to the surface of the skin. And then maintains water reserves for the skin! I love it because it has a rich texture that helps to instantly hydrate my skin. It also contains mango butter which is a natural plant-based emollient known to provide moisture.
Get yourself some coconut oil! Coconut oil has many different uses and honestly, that stuff is amazing! I love to use it to take my makeup off as it cleanses and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry afterwards. I got mine at Holland and Barrett.
Spray, don’t bake! This is one that I learnt for myself. Often it is easy to get caught up in the latest makeup trends. However, we often also forget that we all have different skin types. I used to "bake" when it was popular and I found that by doing so my skin looked even drier. I then decided to just use a setting spray instead and it works a lot better. My personal favourite is the Mac prep and prime fix plus +gold lite. It is so beautiful and has little gold bits in it!
Use a beauty oil! This helps a lot for dry skin. Using a beauty oil can sometimes be better than using a moisturising cream. Personally I like to use both. I use the Clarins beauty oil.
Always wash off your makeup! This is a good tip for both skin types because when makeup is trapped in the pores, you aren’t allowing your skin to breathe. Therefore, making your skin drier.
